Mike is Chief Operating Officer of Football.Enterprises, the global football investment platform building an integrated ecosystem of club ownership, sports technology, and early-stage player development. He oversees day-to-day operations — operational strategy and execution across the club portfolio, technology platform, and player development initiatives — as the company scales its portfolio of clubs in France, Denmark, England, and beyond.
FanUp.ai. Mike is a board member and investor in FanUp.ai, an AI platform that helps sports teams turn their fans into monetizable balance-sheet assets.
Armadillo United. Mike is executive producer of Armadillo United, a feel-good sports comedy starring Antonio Banderas, Danny Trejo, Rubén Blades, and Danay García, written and directed by Alan Jacobs. The film follows 12-year-old Dante Delgado and his soccer team's roller-coaster ride to the World Cup of Youth Soccer in Rio de Janeiro. Production is based at Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas, with location shooting in Brazil and Spain, and features about 30 players from the Houston Dynamo Academy. (Variety)
Career. Mike has worked across all five major sports, founding three teams from scratch and strengthening operations at established franchises, including the NBA, Nike, the New York Rangers, the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Portland Trail Blazers. As President of Business for the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns, he led their launches in 2011 and 2013 and helped build them into some of the most successful franchises in sports. He contributed to the inception and governance of the NWSL, set attendance records with the Thorns, and later founded Bottlenose Sports and served as President of Business for SlamBall, leading its relaunch.
Recognition and community. Mike is a two-time MLS Executive of the Year and has been named one of Oregon's most influential figures in sports. He serves as Board Chair of RecycleBalls, a national nonprofit, and has long been committed to civic and arts leadership, including chairing the Portland Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Arts & Culture Council, and Portland Center Stage.
Mike holds a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He lives in Bend, Oregon, with his wife Sam and two dogs.
